Story

LinkSquares and the Evolution of the Legal Tech Stack

For decades, corporate legal departments were viewed as cost centers where critical business speed went to die. The standard process for managing agreements—from non-disclosure agreements to multi-million-dollar vendor contracts—relied on a highly fractured system of emails, Word documents, and buried PDFs. Important data points like renewal dates, liability clauses, and termination terms remained completely trapped in static text, requiring hours of manual, high-stakes human review.

When we met founders Vishal Sunak and Chris Combs, we saw a massive opportunity to bring true data architecture and applied AI to a historically underserved enterprise workflow.

Instead of building a rigid, legacy digital filing cabinet, LinkSquares pioneered an AI-first approach to Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM). Their platform, powered by their purpose-built LinkAI engine, reads, extracts, and understands legal metadata from tens of thousands of agreements simultaneously. Rather than just acting as a system of record, LinkSquares has evolved contract management into a dynamic system of execution. With their cutting-edge agentic AI platform, the system actively drafts, reviews, and redlines complex contracts in minutes, while keeping legal guardrails intact so non-legal teams can move deals forward safely.

We backed LinkSquares early because they exemplified our core thesis: leveraging AI to reshape foundational enterprise infrastructure from the data layer up. Today, trusted by over 1,200 organizations including massive brands like DraftKings and TIME, LinkSquares has successfully transformed the legal department from an operational bottleneck into a strategic hub for fast, data-driven business execution.
