Story
Spiro and Automating CRM Software
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is the software category salespeople love to hate—and in manufacturing and distribution, they simply don't use it. Traditional CRMs depend on reps manually logging every call, email, and update, but manufacturing reps are on the road managing long-cycle relationships and repeat orders, not filling out paperwork. The result: empty pipelines, stale data, and leadership flying blind on the accounts that drive the business.
Spiro built an AI-powered proactive relationship management platform designed specifically for manufacturers and distributors. Founded by Adam Honig—a serial entrepreneur who had previously built a CRM consultancy acquired by Accenture—understood exactly why traditional CRM fails. Instead of demanding data entry, Spiro captured customer interactions automatically, connected directly to the ERP to track orders against projections, flagged accounts showing gaps or churn risk, and proactively recommended the next action for every rep. The CRM updated itself—and early customers grew contract values by 30%.
Exit Journey
Spiro's traction with manufacturers made it a natural acquisition target in industrial software. In May 2024, Spiro was acquired by Cordance, a company that buys and scales vertically-focused B2B SaaS businesses with deep roots in industrial distribution and manufacturing.
